finished symphony, one of the few predictions of his theory of general relativity yet to be proved. With gen eral relativity, this century's most il lustrious physicist introduced us to a new, geometric vision of gravity. Space, Einstein taught, may be thought of not as an enormous empty expanse.   Buy the Paperback Book Einstein's Unfinished Symphony: The Story Of A Gamble, Two Black Holes, And A New Age Of Astronomy by Marcia Bartusiak at , Canada's largest bookstore. The title "Einstein's Unfinished Symphony" is a reference to Einstein's theory of General Relativity's predicting that large moving objects would create waves in spacetime, which are these "gravity waves".

The book is about the history and the technology of attempting to detect these gravity waves/5(11). I would have liked the book even more if Bartusiak had provided more imaginative writing like that, and more science as well.

Still, if you want to know what the first detection of gravitational waves will mean, and the enormous amount of effort that has gone into this impending discovery, _Einstein's Unfinished Symphony_ is well worth reading/5(9).

An updated classic that recounts the long hunt for Einstein’s predicted gravitational waves—and celebrates their recent discovery In Februaryastronomers announced that they had verified the last remaining prediction of Einstein’s general theory of relativity—vibrations in space-time, called gravitational waves.

Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR () BooknewsPages: Thus the author elegantly entitled this book "Einstein's Unfinished Symphony." Each chapter also has the title related to music.

For example, the chapter about the discovery of the Hulse-Taylor binary pulsar, indirect evidence for gravity waves, is cogently entitled "Pas De Deux."Bartusiak's sentences are also rhythmic like music, especially in 5/5(5).
